The United States National Security Adviser, Robert O’Brien, has tested positive to the novel Coronavirus, making him the highest-ranked Trump administration official to have contracted the virus.
The White House announced on Monday afternoon July 27, that O’Brien had contracted the virus, was showing mild symptoms and has been placed under isolation.
The White House said in a statement Monday “O’Brien, 54, has “mild symptoms and has been self-isolating and working from a secure location off-site. There is no risk of exposure to the President or the Vice President. The work of the National Security Council continues uninterrupted,”
O’Brien travelled early this month to Europe to meet with officials from the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy. He was photographed in close proximity with his European counterparts, none of whom wore masks.
