The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Automated Teller Machine (ATM) from different banks across the nation recorded exchanges esteemed at N39.15 trillion in the final quarter of 2018.

The agency expressed this in its “Selected Banking Sector Data for the Fourth Quarter, 2018”, posted on its site on Wednesday.

It said that the N39.15 trillion was gotten from 616,528,697 transactions recorded as information on “Electronic Payment Channels in the Nigeria Banking Sector” during the period.

The bureau added that NIBSS Instant Payments (NIP) transactions overwhelmed the volume of exchanges recorded in the quarter.

As indicated by the report, 228, 209, 423 NIP transactions esteemed at N23.57 trillion were recorded in the quarter under survey.

In reference to credit the private area by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) amid the period, the report said the absolute estimation of credit dispensed by the bank was N15.13 trillion.

It said Oil and Gas and Manufacturing divisions got credit distribution of N3.55 trillion and N2.23 trillion to record the most astounding allotment in the quarter.

The report likewise expressed that the quantity of staff in the managing an account segment expanded by 1.80 percent quarter-on-quarter, from 102,821 in the second from last quarter to 104,669 in the period.
