Job Description

  • Preparing staff handbook.
  • Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits; undertaking regular salaryreviews.
  • Liaising with a wide range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety;
  • Developing with line managers HR planning strategies that consider immediate and long-term staff requirements;
  • Planning, and sometimes delivering, training, including inductions for new staff.
  • Analyzing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers.
  • Recruiting staff – this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing jobadverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
  • Developing and implementing policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management.
  • Working closely with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand andimplement policies and procedures.
  • Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization.
  • Negotiating with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to payand conditions.
  • Administering payroll and maintaining employee records.
  • Interpreting and advising on employment law.
  • Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures.

Requirements and Skills

  • B.Sc / BA Degree in Business Administration, Social Studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus.
  • 2 – 4 years relevant work experience.
  • HR Credentials (e.gPHR from the HR Certification Institute) would be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience as HR officer, administrator, or other HR position.
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, etc.)
  • Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
  • Strong ethics and reliability.
  • Proximity to location is MANDATORY (Trade-Fair).
