Nigerian Army warns applicants over fake online recruitment portal

The Nigerian Army has raised concerns regarding the proliferation of false online information, specifically surrounding the Nigerian Army Direct Short Service (DSS) Recruitment Portal for the year 2023.

Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, released a statement on the official NA’s X account, @HQNigeriaArmy, refuting the authenticity of the purported recruitment portal.

In the statement, General Nwachukwu clarified, “The NA wishes to state that the false online publication is a deliberate fraudulent effort by some unscrupulous persons to mislead the public. “Considering the damage this fake online publications could do to the psyche of would-be candidates and the general public, it is crucial to clarify that the fake online Direct Short Service Portal 2023, is a scam and should be clearly avoided.”

The Nigerian Army has initiated measures to apprehend those responsible for the fraudulent portal, urging the public to report any suspicious recruitment portal or activities.

The statement reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army to maintaining a transparent and credible recruitment process.

To access accurate and up-to-date information on recruitment, the public was advised to rely on official channels, including the Nigerian Army’s official website (https://army.mil.ng) and verified social media platforms such as Twitter (@HQNigerianArmy), Facebook (HQ Nigerian Army), and Instagram (HQNigerianArmy).

General Nwachukwu emphasized the importance of prospective candidates and the public exercising vigilance and taking refutation seriously when seeking information related to the Nigerian Army’s recruitment processes.
