- As a Senior Operator specialized in teeming crane operation at African Steel Mills, your role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient casting process.
- Reporting to the Shift In-charge of the Caster department, you will be responsible for a range of tasks essential to the casting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for ladle movement underneath furnace during tapping.
- Responsible for proper placing of ladle at Caster.
- Responsible for minor or routine maintenance and repair jobs.
- Respect the good housekeeping and keep all access areas clear at the transformer, control panel and substations.
- Respect the safety rules and regulations.
- Carry out any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
Academic Qualification:
- OND / HND / ITI in Production Engineering
- Bachelors in Production Engineering
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Steel manufacturing plants
- Experience in teeming crane operator at Continuous Caster Machine (CCM)

Main Pulpit Operator
Brief Job Description with Purpose of role
- As a Main Pulpit Operator in the Rolling Mill Department, your primary responsibility is to oversee and control the rolling mill operations from a central control room, known as the pulpit. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and precise production of steel products, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing the rolling process.
- The purpose of this role is to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the rolling mill by monitoring and controlling the rolling processes, making real-time adjustments, and coordinating with other departments to achieve production targets and quality standards.
Academic qualification
- OND / HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Industrial
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Steel Manufacturing

CNC Operator
Job Description
- As a CNC Operator, you will be an integral part of the Rolling Mill Operations team, reporting to the Shift in charge or Supervisor of the Roll Shop.
- Your role will involve operating CNC machines to perform various tasks related to rolling pass cutting, machining, and maintenance in alignment with technical specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Roll Pass Cutting for Mill Rolls and other Machining as per drawing
- Understanding of Technical Parameters of the Machining Job and Machine Capacity
- CNC Programming and Data Entering of different types of Pass Profiles
- To prepare RIB Cutting and Branding in the Finishing Mill Rolls.
- To Operate general-purpose machines in the Roll Shop
- To carry out Periodic checking of machinery and equipment of Roll Shop.
- To carry out routine maintenance jobs of the Roll Shop Machineries.
- To provide technical support to the superiors in investigation and resolution of problem areas.
- To prepare and submit the daily reports to the concerned shift in charges
