Job Description
- We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Lead to join our early years team and contribute to the growth and development of our youngest students.
- The Nursery Lead will oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery class, ensuring a safe, caring, and engaging environment for children.
- This role involves leading a team of nursery assistants, planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, and collaborating with parents to support each child’s learning journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring it meets the developmental needs of all children.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Supervise and mentor nursery staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Develop strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and well-being.
- Monitor and assess each child’s development, identifying and addressing any areas of concern.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, following school policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other school staff to integrate nursery activities into the broader school community.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a nursery or early years setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and child development principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a nurturing, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- First aid certification is preferred.
