About the job

  • The ideal candidate is responsible for developing and implementing a supply strategy that delivers the lowest total cost, reduces inventory, and maximizes customer satisfaction through world class service.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate material requirement plan and share material volume allocation to vendors.
  • Analyze data or insights to determine industry trends regarding the category.
  • Overseeing a team of category buyers and other support staff
  • Build and drive relationships with key vendors to improve pricing and quality of services.
  • Proactively monitoring the category and manage risk responsibly.
  • Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are always in place.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and build their requirements into procurement strategy.
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
  • Conduct category price analysis and benchmarking and explore cost savings opportunities.
  • Seek and provide solutions to overcome issues in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks.
  • Developing sustainable and ethical sourcing strategy and monitor implementation in sync with the Business procurement policy.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure ready availability of materials to meet planned / unplanned production targets.
  • Drive a culture of proactive problem solving and continuous improvement.

  • Procurement savings
  • Purchase price variance analysis
  • Category Spend Savings / Value Analysis
  • Percentage of procurement spend to company revenue.
  • Target Stock Holding %: Forte 95% | Emerging 90% | BTL 85%
  • Suppliers Compliance Rate – Establish a system of evaluating the quality of suppliers backed with data and analytics. Set clear goals and monitor the performance of suppliers in detail.
  • Spend Under Management – Tracking and optimization of expenditures by negotiating a volume discount.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Good University degree (BSc/HND/MBA/MSc ) in Industrial/ Production Engineering, Operations Management, Procurement & supply.
  • Minimum requirement: 7 years practical experience with FMCG or high pace manufacturing environment.
