Abike Dabiri wants EFCC to reassure the world its fighting cyber crime

Hon. Abike Erewa-Dabiri wants the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to assure the rest of the world that Nigeria is doing everything it can to fight cyber crime.

This is coming after the FBI released the name of 77 Nigerians who have been arrested for cyber related crime in the US.

Erewa-Dabiri decried the rate at which Nigerians particularly the youth get involved in all manners of fraudulent activities in foreign countries, saying more efforts should be geared towards the combating of the crimes.

She said “It is very embarrassing to know that out of 80 suspected fraudsters you find, 70 are actually Nigerians. When things like these happen, they damage the image of the country. We hope that the EFCC will reassure the world that we are fighting cyber crime”
