Job Summary
- As the Junior Account Officer at Bemil Nigeria, you will be responsible in providing support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks.
- You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.
- The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers, paying attention to detail and assisting the accounts department in the timely and accurate delivery of financial reports.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The Officer ensures daily Payroll reconcilations with the Human resources department.
- Vet and audit the Payroll as at when due.
- Handle and manage the store warehouse.
- Ensure daily follow up of debtors; via phone calls, mailing or visitation.
- The officer ensures regular reconciliation of receivables report balances with balances of debtors in accounting package – Tally
- Reconciling bank statements and other financial documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness of records.
- Officer ensures issuance of Approved Credit Note to Clients and communicate it to such client.
- The officer ensure the approved credit note are posted in client ledger on accounting package (Tally)
- Accurate and proper safekeeping of copies of credit note.
- Proper and timely posting of receipts into customer respective ledger.
- Recording and organizing financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Officer is required to issue receipt to customers as evidence of receipt of payments where required by the customer.
- Maintaining proper relationship and communication with customers, other staff on receivables and related matters.
- Regularly engage with key accounts to understand their evolving needs and address any concerns promptly.
- Maintaining confidentiality of financial information and demonstrating a high level of ethical behavior in handling financial matters.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years account experience.
- Professional certification such as ICAN is a plus.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting.
- Organizational and time management skills.
