Adeleke’s victory light for PDP – Party chieftain

The North-West Zonal Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Sen. Bello Gwarzo, has described the victory of the party in the Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State as a light for the party.

He made the remark in Kano while congratulating Senator Ademola Adeleke on behalf of the PDP family in the North-West Zone.

Senator Gwarzo further described Adeleke as a dogged individual who fought for his stolen mandate.

“Sen. Adeleke is a leader that demonstrated good leadership qualities by working tirelessly for the party. He is someone that the people of Osun want at this crucial moment where things have deteriorated in all sectors in the state. His victory is a light for our party and an indicator that the PDP will emerge victorious in the 2023 polls.

As we are preparing for the 2023 elections, Nigerians should put it at the back of their mind that the PDP is ready to reposition this country and make their lives better.

“It’s obvious that the current predicament the All Progressives Congress-led government has inflicted on us is not only a failure of leadership but lack of strategy and preparedness. They came unprepared and our party is ready to correct all wrongs committed by the APC,” Gwarzo said.

He, therefore, called on the party supporters to obtain Permanent Voter Cards to enable them exercise their civic responsibility to vote for the candidates of their choice.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Adeleke the winner of the Osun governorship election.

The Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, announced that Adeleke got a total of 403,371 votes beating the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, who got 375,027 votes in a keenly contested race.
