Aguero costs Manchester City a goal as Son steals victory with a perfect strike

Manchester City lost 1-0 at Tottenham in the Champions league as Aguero missed from the spot as that proved really costly as the tight contest progressed.

In the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, Son Heung-min put Tottenham on the scoreboard with a beautiful strike from the right even though he lost the first attempt with poor controlling as he was assisted with a long pass.

Harry Kane was forced off the field following an injury and Sergio Aguero missed a first-half penalty before Son’s strike spiked the cheering of the chanting fans at the New Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Tuesday.

Mauricio Pochettino has said in an interview that Harry Kane may be out for the rest of the season.

Although Manchester City seemed to lack a lot of spark that has given them greater chances for an unprecedented quadruple this season, Bernardo Silva or Kevin De Bruyne’s absence has proven costly.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were greatly terrorized by Ederson for much of the match, but the Brazil goalkeeper’s mistake allowed for Son’s strike to slide beneath him and leave City trailing ahead of the return leg.

Danny Rose was penalized after a VAR review for blocking Sterling’s shot with his arm just eleven minutes in, but Hugo Lloris comfortably saved Aguero’s spot kick.

The incident seemed to galvanise Spurs, with Kane seeing a shot well stopped by Ederson, who also denied Rose just before the break.

Manchester City continued to look a threat on the attack even if they were not in their best forms.

Risking an attack in the return leg at the Etihad Stadium and out of fear of conceding an away goal, Pep Guardiola will be really frustrated not to have scored at least.
