Airport Will Reopen Soon ― FAAN assures Nigerians

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN has announced that it will soon reopen for operations, praying its customers to bear with any inconvenience this is causing them.

FAAN made this appeal via its official handle @FAAN_Official on Monday.

InsideOjodu recalls that the Presidential Task Force for COVID-19 had stopped the operation of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria from allowing any flight in and out of the country as part of the measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We will open soon, please bear with us.

“We know you are eager to fly just as we are eager to open our doors for you but we need to do it safely.

“We are putting all measures in place to keep you safe when you fly. pls bear with us,” FAAN twitted

Meanwhile, the Managing Director FAAN, Captain Rabiu Yadudu, over the weekend announced that two flights will not be allowed to fly from the same terminal within the same time.

He said that new approach was to ensure safety in the sector, especially with the current COVID-19 pandemic in the country, adding that the method will not disrupt airlines’ schedules, but to ensure total safety of passengers.

“We have already told NCAA of plans to space the flights. No two airlines will depart at the same time from our airports.

“The spacing is not to make things difficult for the airline operators, but to protect their staff and other users of our airports,” Yadudu said.
