Less than 72 hours to the presidential election, the governments of Anambra and Osun states have confirmed Friday work-free to enable public and civil servants to participate in Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Anambra State Head of Service, Mr. Harry Udu, made the statement on Thursday in Awka.

Udu encouraged workers in Anambra State to demonstrate nationalism to government by guaranteeing they practice their franchise peacefully.

He clarified that the work- free day would empower those heading out to their particular networks to do as such in time.

The HOS said that the administration anticipated gigantic support of every single qualified voter during the elections.

He reaffirmed the state’s promise to laborers’ welfare, saying it stayed best on the motivation of the Governor Willie Obiano’s organization.

In Osun State, in front of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections, the legislature has proclaimed Friday a public holiday.

The Supervisory Director of Osun Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Adelani Baderinwa, made this known in Osogbo on Thursday.

Baderinwa said in an explanation that the public holiday was to enable qualified voters to plan for and take an interest in the general election.

He said government knew that a portion of the voters in the common administration would need to head out to their different territories to cast a ballot.

Baderinwa likewise cited Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as asking the electorate who might take an interest in the election to be of good direct all through the election time frame.

He said Oyetola spoke to the general population to evade viciousness and any demonstration fit for undermining the tranquil air of the state.

Baderinwa stated that Oyetola appealed to the people to shun violence and any act capable of undermining the peaceful atmosphere of the state.

“Election is not about violence or brigandage; it is about using your Permanent Voter Card to cast your vote for a good candidate that will strengthen democracy and good governance.

“We have come a long way in the state of Osun in terms of development, human capital development, peace and security. This election is another opportunity to vote for the progress and development of the state.
