Assistant Technician at OPEX Oil & Gas Resources Limited

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Operational:

  • Supervise recording the gas flow parameter readings and records of customers’ gas consumption volumes.
  • Coordinate preparation of daily gas and maintainance reports for the Service Level Agreement Manager’s review and approval, highlights issues and provides suggestions for addressing problems noted/complaints from consumers.
  • Supervise assigned pressure reduction metering station installation and commissioning tasks.
  • Supervise activities at compressed natural gas station.
  • Checks performance and produces routine inspection reports on various Above Ground Installation equipment.
  • Odouriser system.
  • Emergency shutdown device valve.
  • Thermo electric generator and transformer rectifier.
  • Generator set.
  • Borehole pump assembly.
  • Provides necessary assistance and support for other utility maintenance and repair works.

Job Responsibilities

  • Achievement of on-time and within budget installations.
  • Zero lost time injury during installation.
  • 100% uptime and not later than 24hours restoration after shutdown
  • Good physical state of pipelines, installation and equipment.
  • High safety levels/records at all installations, accident free operations.
  • Excellent knowledge and control of installation and commissioning related industrial accidents and environmental hazards that can occur around construction sites, pipeline areas, the Above Ground Installation and customer locations.
  • Zero regulatory fines and penalties due to non-compliance.
  • 100% customer satisfactory levels, no gas supply interruptions to consumers.
  • High quality, comprehensiveness and accuracy of periodic reports.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an OND / SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with 0 – 3 years work experience.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Oil and Gas Industry dynamics.
  • Gas plant & pipeline operations (including understanding of gas flow equipment and process control).
  • Health, safety & environmental regulations & policies for gas companies.
  • Gas systems & Installations Performance Tracking.
