Atiku Warns INEC, Security Agencies against Rigging Election

Ahead of the 2019 election the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies against nosy in the conduct of February 16 and March 2 general elections, because such effort will be avoided.

Atiku issued this caution at a PDP campaign rally held in Damaturu  the Yobe State capital on Wednesday, while addressing the crowd of supporters.

He promised his supporters that his government will majorly be for youth and women, if voted into power. He explained that voting him as president was a exceptional for people of Northeast as he is an indigene of the soil.

In his statement he said, “People of Yobe State, three and the half years, you have voted APC and I want to ask, what has APC done to you? APC has promised to restore security, provide employment and revive the country’s economy all have failed thereby subjecting you to abject poverty, hunger and insecurity among others.

“People of Yobe State, all Nigerians have made a positive change; you should not be left behind. Don’t make the mistake of re-electing APC again,” he warned.

The PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, in his words, said something new is happening  the nation has arrived in Yobe State.

“By the mandate of ordinary people, I believe and convince on behalf of the leadership of the party that your votes will count on the February 16th and March 2nd. Therefore, come out in your numbers to vote and defend it,” he said.

He also alleged that INEC intended to use manual collation of results as an alternative of e-collation in Borno and Yobe States, claiming that this is a means of manipulating result.
