Australia Deer Attack and Kills Man

Authorities say that on a rural property in Southern Australia, a man has been killed by a deer.

And according to police, the tragic incident happened on Wednesday near Wangaratta, a town about 250km (155 miles) north-east of Melbourne where the deer attacked a man and a woman.

As a result of the severity of the injuries sustained, the woman was quickly flown to a hospital to receive immediate treatment.

The police say that they’re currently investigating the event. Adding that they had euthanised the deer at the scene of the incident.

According to official estimates, the deer population in Victoria, South Africa has grown to be more than a million in recent years.

And prompting calls for culls, the non-native species of deer have been classified by Parks Victoria as a threat to vegetation in national parks.
