“Barcelona should enjoy ‘every minute’ of ‘best player in the world’ Messi” – Suarez

Luis Suarez says that his fellow Barcelona team-mates just have to enjoy “every minute” that Lionel Messi plays with them because he is certainly “the best player in the world” after the Argentine secured the La Liga title for the club with the only goal against Levante.

The Argentine was substituted into the game to score the winner in the Blaugrana’s 1-0 win against Levante on Saturday, which handed them the Spanish domestic title in dominant fashion once again.

The 3-year-old Messi shows zero signs of depletion despite his age and has enjoyed clearly one of his finest seasons as a football player, inspiring Barcelona to success both locally and internationally, with the Catalan club still firmly in the mix for Champions League success too.

Speaking to Movistar Partidazo just after the match at Camp Nou that confirmed Ernesto Valverde’s Side, Barcelona as champions, team-mate Suarez poured the praise on Messi, stating that his fellow players should both enjoy and take pride in his skills.

“We have to be realistic that he is the best player in the world,” the Uruguay international stated. “We have to enjoy him every minute he plays, we have to be proud of how great he is.”

Suarez, the former Liverpool favorite still has his head in the game as Barcelona touches the potential of a treble, stressing that the team remain focused on the immediate games in hand.

Suarez will face his former club, Liverpool when the Reds visit Camp Nou on Wednesday before he faces a trip back to Anfield less than a week later in the Champions League semi-finals.

Suarez said of the treble, “We do not [speak of it]. We are aware that on Wednesday we will play one of the biggest games we have all season. We have to [perform in] two big games if we want to achieve our goal.”
