Blessing Okagbare sets new meet record in Slovakia

Nigerian athlete, Blessing Okagbare has set a new meet record after winning the 100m women’s event at P-T-S Meeting in Samorin, Slovak Republic in 10.98 secs.

With her impressive run in 10.98 secs, Okagbare set a new meet record as no other woman has ever won the race under 11 seconds in the Meet held in the Eastern European country.

The excited Nigerian athlete wrote on Facebook “Thank God for another healthy race/win today.”

Okagbare first broke the 11 seconds barrier for the first time in her career at the Crystal Palace Aviva London Grand Prix in London on July 14, 2012, when she ran 10.99 secs. This is also the 21st time Okagbare has run under 11 seconds in her career; a feat no Nigerian athlete has replicated.
