ROLE DESCRIPTION
- The APL B737 Engineer (LAGOS) is responsible for the safe and efficientmaintenance, repair, modification and certification of Boeing 737 aircraft and related components, making sure that they meet the regulatory requirements and standards.
- The APL B737 Engineer will assign and carry out inspections, repair, replacements, and modifications to the aircraft and related systems, while assuring the tasks are performed to company standards and targets.
- The APL B737 Engineer will also manage the team of Technicians and review work procedures and standards to ensure effectiveness.
- To supervise a maintenance team, perform inspections and certify maintenance work carried out on company/third party aircraft in line with regulatory requirements and company standards to uphold high safety standards and scheduling integrity
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assign, carry out and certify inspections, repair, components replacement and modification tasks on aircraft, aircraft components and aircraft systems.
- Daily planning of own tasks, allocate tasks to the Technician.
- Assess defects on aircraft, rectify and Certify within the limitation of company approval in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Allocation and supervision of tasks and activities assigned to Junior Engineers and technician.
- Communicate with internal/external customers to give and receive information on assigned duties, progress status.
- Make decision on resources allocation and team tasks in line with standard operating procedures.
- Ensure tasks are performed to meet company standards and targets.
- Review work procedures and standards and propose improvements to procedures to ensure effectiveness.
- Identify and request the required aircraft parts.
- Report incidents / accident occurrences as per company procedures
- Ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded accurately & signed for to maintain correct & up to date aircraft history /data.
- Adhere to the company safety, health and environmental policy.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS
- Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical/EIectricaI/ Aeronautical/lnstrumentation).
- At least 8 years aircraft maintenance experience, 5 of them performing and certifying maintenance tasks on B737CL Aircraft with CFM56 Engines.
- Valid NCAA AME License (Bl/B2) with B737CL Aircraft / CFM56 Engines Endorsement.
- In-depth knowledge on aircraft systems.
- In-depth Knowledge of Aviation Legislation/ReguIations.
- Proficiency in computer applications and MRO system.
- Ability to interpret technical data.
- Inspection and troubleshooting technique.
- Supervisory skills
- Good Knowledge of Industrial Safety Standards
- Human factors knowledge
