Breaking: Gunmen kill six people in Catholic church in Burkina Faso

Officials reports that during mass, Gunmen have burned down a church to the ground and killed six people in the process, including a priest, in Burkina Faso.

Security sources and local official said that the morning attack took place in the northern town of Dablo.

Ousmane Zongo, the mayor of Dablo told AFP, the news agency, “Armed individuals burst into the Catholic church…They started firing as the congregation tried to flee.”

This makes it the third consecutive attack on churches in Burkina Faso in the past month.

Mayor Zongo also said that a priest was among those murdered in the attack which took place at 09.00 local time [10:00 GMT).

A government official told the BBC that the militants also set fire to a nearby shops and a health centre.s
