Armed men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), have invaded Airport Hotel along Allen Avenue in Lagos, where some political activists are holding a rally ahead of the March 9 governorship election in the state.

The group which is under the Orange Movement, gathered in Oramiyan Hall in the hotel to strategise on how to stop Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from having his way in the election, inside Ojodu reports.

The group allegy that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, candidate of the APC in the election, has the support of Tinubu.

This however, some critics of the APC leader and members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have alleged that if Sanwo-Olu wins the election it means that Tinubu is ruling for fifth term in Lagos.

They noted that he served as governor between 1999 and 2007, and influenced the emergence of Babatunde Fashola, who governed the state between 2007 and 2015.

The group also affirmed that Tinubu played a key role in the emergence of Akinwunmi Ambode, incumbent governor of Lagos.

Inside Ojodu noted that the Orange Movement had adopted “O to Ge”, meaning “Enough is Enough”, a campaign which was used to unseat the political structure of Senate President Bukola Saraki.

The invasion according to a member of the movement was based on the fact that the group did not seek permission from the appropriate authorities before organising the rally.
