British-Nigerian boxer, Lawrence Okolie retain WBO cruiserweight title

Lawrence Okolie, the British-Nigerian boxer signed and managed by Anthony Joshua knocked out Dilan Prasovic in the third round on Saturday night, September 25, to retain the WBO cruiserweight title.

Okolie, 28, fought on the undercards of the clash between Oleksandr Usyk and his manager, Anthony Joshua, and crushed the Montenegrin within three rounds in his first defence of the WBO world title.

Okolie knocked off his challenger with a pair of right hands in the second round before finishing him with a left to the body in the third.

Okolie is now undefeated in 17 matches and could be fast-tracked to face Mairis Briedis, the IBF champion in order to unify the belts at the cruiserweight division.
