Buhari approves neuropsychiatric hospital for Kwara

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a neuropsychiatric hospital for Kwara State.

The hospital is to be located at Budo-Egba, in Asa Local Government Area of the State.

This was contained in a letter communicated to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq from the Minister of state, Health, Dr Adeleke Olorunnimbe Mamora.

The letter dated September 16,2021 read, “I wish to extend my complements and convey Mr President’s approval for the establishment of a neuropsychiatric hospital at Budo-Egba via Ref No.PRES/811/SGF/719.”

It was titled ‘Re-Request for the establishment of a neuropsychiatric hospital in Kwara State for the North Central Geo political zone of Nigeria.’

Reacting to the approval, in a statement by his spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye in Ilorin on Sunday, Governor Abdulrazaq described the approval as a dream come true for the administration and the three senators from Kwara State, who all worked hard to make it happen.

“I send profound appreciation to Mr president for this huge honour done to our people.

“I also commend the honourable Minister of Health for supporting our bid for the strategic institution,” the statement added.

The State government’s team is expected to meet with a team of the Federal Ministry of Health later this month to facilitate the take off of the facility.
