Buhari Swears-In 8 Permanent Secretaries

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday swore in eight new Permanent secretaries at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The short ceremony occurred at the Council Chamber before the beginning of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The new appointees were directors appointed to represent eight states of the federation in line with the federal character.

The new permanent secretaries are, Oluwuyiwa Enitan (Osun), Mohammed Dikwa (Borno), Ajani Madaline (Delta), and Festus Yesufu Dawodu (Nasarawa).

Others are Nnamdi Maurice (Imo), Bakare Wadinga (Adamawa), Babatunde Lawal (Lagos) and Ernest Afolabi Umahi (Edo).

While complimenting the new permanent secretaries, President Buhari who advised them that new oath taken accompanies a ton of duty, urging them to enable the administration to defeat its issues through execution of its policies.

He noted with alarm that progressive governments destroyed the checks and balances in the civil service, yet guaranteed that his administration would convey on its three focal areas of security, economy and fight against corruption.

President Buhari charged the new Permanent Secretaries to be above board in their capacities and expressed his commitment to the welfare of the civil service.
