Job Description
- The CNC Operator / Machinist of Buckler Land Systems will be responsible for the production of machine components using a computer numerical control, or CNC machine.
- He will be responsible for programming, operating and implementing machine processes while maintaining company safety and quality expectations. Additionally, He will manage related inventory and keep accurate records of daily production.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, milling etc.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Adhere to all company, local, state and federal protocol and safety regulations.
- Complete regular preventative maintenance and call for repairs as needed.
- Detect and troubleshoot system malfunctions through taking measurements, adjusting controls, reprogramming machines and closely monitoring grooving, drilling and cutting.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
- Ensure the CNC machine operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company.
- Record all machine actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Ensure that results of machining process align with client expectations.
- Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment
- Enter all relevant codes to specify the feed, speed, and cut of any toolpath for a CNC.
- Observe operations and interpret control panel displays to achieve production requirements and maintain safe operating standard.
