Job Description
- The Computing / Project Based Learning Teacher should have a passion for technology and a thirst for knowledge. He/she plays a key role in facilitating Computing as a subject and PBL which is the school’s unique construct to required standards.
- The Computing/PBL Teacher should understand the strategic technology plan of the school and take the lead role with plan implementation.
Responsibilities and Skills
- Teach Computing and ICT in Secondary classes
- Prepare and present students for IGCSE
- Responsible for implementing the school’s strategic technology plan.
- Identify trends in software, hardware, curriculum, teaching strategies, and other areas.
- Develop best practices for instructional technology across all classes
- Work with the Management Team to develop both short-term (1yr) and long-term (3yr) technology plans.
- Assist teachers in developing curriculum and content utilizing technology.
- Develop methods of incorporating interactive technology to improve learning experience.
- Conduct technology training for teaching staff; review and recommend technology based professional development opportunities.
- Develop a technology resource environment that can be easily accessed by all staff and pupils.
- Perform necessary duties including but not limited to morning arrival duties, and after-school duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher and mastery of core subject.
- 2-5 years’ experience teaching ICT/Computing using the English curriculum
- Excellent facilitator with the ability to motivate, direct, and train people and collaborate with others effectively and productively.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence and ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing, conceptualizing and prioritizing objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in executing projects to excellent standards
- Adaptability in dealing with change, delays or unexpected events to ensure the general welfare of the school.
