The Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru has urged Nigerians to continue their prayers for the resolution of the security challenges afflicting the nation.

Badaru made this call on Thursday in Abuja while hosting a delegation from Jigawa State, led by Governor Umar Namadi.

Recognizing the multifaceted nature of the security challenges and the broader spectrum of national development concerns, Badaru emphasized that seeking divine intervention through prayer is a fundamental step in achieving success.

He acknowledged the enormity of the task at hand but expressed unwavering determination to overcome these challenges.

The defence minister underscored the importance of garnering support from all Nigerians, including their prayers, to establish lasting peace and stability throughout the country.

Governor Namadi, speaking on behalf of the Jigawa delegation, which included traditional leaders, religious figures, business community representatives, and public office holders, conveyed their congratulations to the minister and assured him of their unwavering support.

He emphasized that their visit was not only to extend congratulations but also to offer prayers.

Referencing Badaru’s successful tenure as governor of Jigawa State, Namadi expressed optimism that the minister would achieve even more in his new role as the Minister of Defence.

He reminded the minister that Nigerians have high expectations regarding the prioritization and resolution of insecurity, emphasizing that addressing this issue encompasses every aspect of the nation.

Namadi also noted the peaceful situation in Jigawa but stressed that the state still requires assistance, affirming their readiness to cooperate with the minister in his efforts to assist other states facing security challenges.
