Job Summary
- We are looking for a knowledgeable and dynamic Economics and Accounting Teacher to join our faculty.
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of economics and accounting principles.
- The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, preparing students for examinations, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and a deeper understanding of economic and financial concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum standards for Economics and Accounting.
- Teach students the fundamentals of economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, and economic theory.
- Instruct students on accounting principles, financial statements, bookkeeping, and related topics.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and accommodate different learning styles.
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress through assignments, projects, tests, and examinations.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve academically.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in economics and accounting to incorporate real-world applications into lessons.
- Prepare students for standardized tests, internal exams, and external competitions where relevant.
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages active participation and a love for learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school administration about student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching certification or relevant teaching credentials.
- Experience teaching Economics and/or Accounting at the middle or high school level.
- Strong understanding of economics theories, accounting principles, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques to support diverse learning needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Experience in preparing students for examinations like AP, IB, or A-levels is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- The role requires active engagement with students in the classroom setting and may include occasional after-school tutoring or extracurricular involvement related to Economics or Accounting clubs.
