Eid-ul-Maulud: FG declares Wednesday Public Holiday

The Federal Government has announced Wednesday, September 27th, as a public holiday to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Maulud celebration.

The declaration was made by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Oluwatoyin Akinlade, in a statement.

The statement conveyed the congratulations of the Minister, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to all Muslim faithful, both in Nigeria and the diaspora, for the occasion.

The Minister encouraged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance, which are essential virtues exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

He emphasized the importance of hard work and a peaceful disposition towards fellow humans, regardless of their faith, ideology, social class, or ethnicity.

The Minister also called on Nigerian youths to join hands with the administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in building a progressive and exemplary nation that all citizens can be proud of.

The Federal Government has declared a public holiday for the Eid-ul-Maulud celebration, and the Minister has urged Nigerians to embrace positive values and contribute to the nation’s progress.
