Eko fashion hub ready for business – Lagos govt

The General Manager of the Eko Micro Small and Medium Enterprise, Mrs Ibitola Ogunmefun, says the fashion hub is ready for patronage by fashion designers to exploit their potential and improve the quality of their products.

She made this known during the unveiling of Eko MSMEs Fashion Hub 1 recently in the state.

She said, “The hub is set up as an intervention project and equipped with sophisticated sewing machines by the government for fashion designers who desire to improved the finishing of their products but do not have the capacity to acquire the requisite equipment for the purpose.

“They do not have to wait till they have huge money as they can access such advanced machines at the hub at a rebated cost.

The hub is available to those who have learnt tailoring but are yet to acquire equipment and, as such, can make use of the facilities by also paying a token.”

The PUNCH had earlier reported that the Lagos State Government organised a three-day upscaling of the fashion designing skills programme for youth and women in the Lekki Free Zone resettlement communities in the state.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Cooperatives, Mrs Lola Akande, who spoke through the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Adetutu Ososanya, said the programme was to help the trainees upscale and acquire appropriate skills and practical knowledge for a modern fashion business.
