The Federal Government has refuted claims suggesting the establishment of Foreign Military Bases in Nigeria, labeling such allegations as false.
In a statement signed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the government urged the general public to disregard the misinformation entirely.
“The Federal Government is not in any such discussion with any foreign country,” stated the minister.
Idris clarified that the government has not received any proposals from any country regarding the establishment of foreign military bases in Nigeria.
He emphasized that while the Nigerian government collaborates with foreign partners to address ongoing security challenges, there are no plans for foreign military bases in the country.
President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains dedicated to enhancing these partnerships to achieve the national security objectives outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
