FG launches Nigeria’s long-term low-emission strategy at COP28 in Dubai

The Federal Government, facilitated by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, unveiled Nigeria’s Long-Term Low-Emission Development Strategy at the ongoing Conference of Parties in Dubai.

The announcement was made in a statement released by Gbenga Saka, Special Adviser on Digital Media, to the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, on Monday.

The statement highlighted the significance of the strategy, describing it as a testament to Nigeria’s steadfast commitment to adopting sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.

Minister Keyamo, in his official capacity, emphasized the nation’s dedication to transitioning from fossil fuels to low-emission alternatives, aligning with the global net-zero goal across all sectors of the economy.

The Long-Term Low-Emission Development Strategy is crafted to expedite sustainable economic progress, effectively tackle climate change challenges, and spur low-carbon growth.
