FG urges state govs to alleviate citizen suffering using available resources

The Federal Government has tasked state governors to utilize available resources to alleviate the hardships faced by Nigerians.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the call during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Dutse, Hameem Nuhu Sanusi, in Jigawa State.

Expressing President Bola Tinubu’s concern over the current situation, particularly regarding insecurity and economic challenges, Idris emphasized the need for prioritizing citizen welfare amidst prevailing difficulties.

He underscored the importance of proactive measures and efficient resource utilization at the state level to address pressing needs.

Highlighting the increased revenue allocation to states from the Federation Account, Idris urged governors to leverage these resources to mitigate citizen hardships.

He commended the efforts of the Jigawa state government in addressing these challenges, citing it as a model for proactive governance.

While acknowledging the current hardships, Idris assured that the government is working diligently to resolve them, expressing confidence that the situation will soon improve.

He also sought the support of traditional leaders in promoting government policies and programs aimed at enhancing citizen well-being.

In response, the Emir of Dutse commended the Federal Government’s initiatives aimed at ensuring the welfare of citizens, indicating support for collaborative efforts to alleviate suffering across the nation.
