Role Purpose
- To manage the day-to-day Finance activities of the ALML Group, taking responsibility for financial reporting, working capital management, banking, revenue accounting, budgeting and other general finance matters.
- Expected to deliver strong financial control within Finance team and the business. Deliver technical competence and authority in accounting, regulatory and local taxation requirements.
Responsibilities not limited to
- Review of the core monthly financial statements, including; Profits and Loss, balance sheet and cash-flow statement and provide commentary thereon.
- Presentation to the directors on new performance issues, variance analysis to budget and forecasts.
- Preparing all regulatory filling returns as required according to requirements and within timetable.
- Liaising with external bodies as appropriate.
- Reviewing and controlling working capital.
- Maximise creditor terms and ensure strong credit control on debtors.
- Ensure strong and effective stock control in place with perpetual inventory administered on a timely basis.
- Ensure that Bank Accounts are effectively reconciled and reviewed.
- Ensure that Fixed assets are properly tracked and reported correctly.
- Ensure that the Finance department adopts and enforces strong internal controls according to best accounting practice.
- Ensure that the Trial Balance is effectively managed and reconciled on a timely basis.
- Ensure that contracts with suppliers are fully documented and effectively managed.
- Manage the banking relationship.
- Ensure excess funds are invested appropriately.
- Ensure that foreign exchange commitments can be met on the due dates.
- Review and ensure that the hedging policy is being appropriately used on foreign exchange exposure.
- Ensure that all revenue and cash are fully captured, reported and collected.
- Ensure that ticket stock is effectively controlled.
- Manage the relationship with IATA, BSP, ARC on financial issues.
- Develop detailed budgets for all departments.
- Manage the budgeting process ensuring key measures are incorporated.
- Measure actual performance against budget on a monthly basis.
- Update the year end forecast.
- Manage the procurement team
- Ensure that all contracts are documented , Service Level Agreements are in place.
- Ensure that contracts are being effectively managed.
- Ensure that insurable risks are identified and appropriate policy is made on coverage of the risk.
- Ensure that insurance have been taken out and are effectively managed.
- Policy is in full compliance and at least covers minimal requirements as governed by Nigerian Law.
- Major stakeholder with the financial year-end audit process.
- Ensure that all major reviews, schedules and prepared by clients listings are compeleted for audit review.
- Responsible for calculating tax returns and statutory filings.
- Compile statutory accounts with notes.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification of 1st degree or its equivalent.
- Mandatory Youth Service Certificate or Exemption Letter.
- ICAN qualification with 5 years post qualification experience is a must
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make presentations to directors.
- Development of budgets, monthly accounts, variance analysis and commentary
- Working effectively with non finance managers
- Effective Team Manager,including managing regional and remote teams.
- Detailed knowledge of revenue accounting and the controls required to ensure that all sales and cash due are being collected.
