Football association joins campaign against domestic violence

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has teamed up with the Lagos State Football Association in the campaign against gender-based violence.

The DSVA and Lagos FA recently organised a sensitisation programme to enlighten female footballers on the various forms of abuse, preventive measures and the support services available in the state.

The Executive Secretary, DSVA, Mrs Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, according to a statement on Monday, reiterated the state’s zero tolerance for all forms of SGBV.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Mr Ogbono Oki, urged the participants to always report cases of abuse, not minding who is involved.

Also, the Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Alhaji Liameed Gafar, said the welfare of the players remained paramount and any form of abuse or SGBV in the association would not be tolerated but reported to the DSVA.
