Former CBN Deputy Gov, Mailafia resigns from NIPSS

The former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Dr. Obadiah Mailafia has resigned from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos Plateau State.

Mailafia was a directing staff at the National Policy, which is a think- tank institution.

His lawyer Barrister Yakubu Bawa confirmed this to newsmen in Jos on Tuesday.

He said the former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 elections resigned his appointment, stating NIPSS has accepted the resignation.

It was gathered that Mailafia’s resignation may not be unconnected with his comments on insecurity and killings in Southern Kaduna during a radio interview.

He had alleged a Northern Governor was Commander of Boko Haram.

He was invited twice by the DSS in Jos for questioning before the police invited him to Abuja.

On Monday, the former CBN Deputy Governor approached the High Court Plateau for enforcement of his rights after declining the police invitation.
