Fulham relegated to the Championship

Fulham has been relegated from the Premier League after a 2 – 0 defeat to Burnley on Monday night, May 10.

All the relegation spots have now been confirmed, with the Cottagers joining Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion as the three clubs to drop into the Championship.

Fulham conceded two goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half at Craven Cottage after Ashley Westwood and Chris Wood found the net, leaving Scott Parker’s side 10 points from safety with three games remaining.

Scott Parker told BBC Sport “At this moment in time I have nothing but sadness. Now and in the coming days we will have a long hard think and regroup. My job is to make sure these games end in the right way. The club needs to make big decisions. We’ve had a relegation, a promotion, and a relegation. The rollercoaster of that and the highs and lows is not something you want. As a football club, we need to make good decisions and work out where we want to go. Probably. If someone has not watched us this year and watched that game it has summed us up. Very good at times between the boxes but fallen short at both ends. We didn’t start the season too well. Four or five games passed, a brand new team that brings its challenges and putting a team together that understands. The most important. The decisions we make now as a football club are going to be pivotal. Next year is going to be another new squad. We need to get around a table and understand where we want to go as a club. It’s not going to be an easy job to bounce back into this division with so many loans. Most Premier League appearances was probably Loftus-Cheek. Young in age and nouse in this division. We’ve fallen short in key moments at this level and that’s where we need to work
