JOB SUMMARY
- We are currently recruiting for the role of a General Physician (Family Medicine).
- The GP will provide comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex within scope of training. Services include: Preventative care, primary care and treatment, health education, Prescribing of medications, ordering and interpreting lab testing, physical examinations, STD screenings, Vision/hearing, women’s health, family planning, prenatal services, nutrition.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Provide comprehensive medical services for family members based on continuous performance of duties irrespective of age or sex.
- Perform essential duties and responsibilities as role of family physician.
- Review patient chart and maintain record for allergies, medical problems, medications and immunization status.
- Solicit and record information related to patient’s medical history.
- Examine patients for symptoms and physical information before prescribing medicine.
- Order and execute various tests, analysis and diagnostic images to acquire information on patient’s condition.
- Study and analyze reports and findings of tests and examination and diagnoses patient’s condition.
- Diagnose and prescribe medical treatments.
- Determine and provide medication, dosage and schedule having patient’s condition and allergies.
- Inform patient about any possible side effects to medication or immunization.
- Suggest patients about diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease to promote good health.
- Refer patient to medical specialist for consultant services if needed for better treatment.
- Record patient’s visit, medical history, physical exam, diagnoses and plan of action.
- Ensure follow up with patient regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases.
- To proactively address issues which may impair access to medical care.
- To monitor advances in medical care and initiate change as needed to ensure that our medical services are up to date.
- To cooperate with the hospital management to ensure departmental policies and procedures exist for dealing with legal issues in clinical care, e.g., crime, coroner’s cases, accident victims.
- Works continually to assure deliverance of quality clinical care in a safe, efficient, competent, and effective manner.
- Prepare records and reports as required in support of services rendered in accordance with established procedures.
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency
- Minimum 5 years experience as a GP Consultant
- Knowledge of Reddington Hospital Group and its clinical processes.
- Knowledge of the minimum required clinical and customer service standard.
- Knowledge of clinical procedures to be in place to facilitate service improvement
