Gov Polls: INEC Begins Sorting of Sensitive Materials in Kano

The Independent National Electoral Commission has started arranging sensitive electoral materials for distribution to the 44 local government areas of Kano State.

This followed the accumulation of card readers and ballot papers from the state branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria, on Wednesday.

INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mallam Garba Mohammed, confirmed this development in a telephone interview, with The PUNCH.

He clarified that non-delicate materials had just been dispatched to the different neighborhood governments as a component of endeavors to ease difficulties posed by logistics.

Mohammed said, “We hope to begin the distribution of our sensitive materials such as card readers and ballot papers by this evening when we finish sorting.

“Right now, we are sorting the items local government by local government as we receive them from the Central Bank of Nigeria.”
