Grammy-nominated Rapper Nipsey Hussle Shot Dead

Rapper Nipsey Hussle died Sunday after a shooting in Los Angeles, in the area of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard, near a clothing store he was associated with according to a high-ranking law enforcement official with the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to the department, two other people were injured in the shooting around 3:20 p.m.

All three victims, including Hussle, were rushed to a hospital, where Hussle was pronounced dead, according to police. The other two were in stable condition, police added.

Only a few weeks after his only official studio album, Victory Lap, it was already up for the Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards.

Upon Hussle’s passing, a lot of celebrities have taken to social media to mourn.

J. Cole had this to say about Hussle’s death;

Pharrell Williams also said;
“ You were about something..positive and for your community in every chance you had to speak..and because of that You inspired millions..millions who upload your legacy forever. rest amongst the stars.” – Pharrell Williams (@Pharrell)

Eric Garcetti, Mayor of Los Angeles tagged Hussle’s death as an “awful tragedy.”

DJ Khaled also had this to say about Hussle; “@nipseyhussle is a great man. Always positive and amazing vibes. Sending my prayers to his family and loved ones. You’re an inspiration to the whole world. This is so sad I can’t believe this.” – DJ Khaled (@djkhaled)

Hussle also took on acting roles occasionally. He featured in movies like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, I Tried, 2010’s Caged Animal, and an episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in 2015.

And only a few hours to his death, Hussle tweeted, “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”
