Job Description:

  • The Group Head of Internal Audit is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the internal audit function across the organization. This role ensures that the company’s risk management, governance, and internal control processes are operating effectively. Provides independent and objective assurance, helping the organization achieve its strategic objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement the internal audit strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and risk appetite.
  • Lead and manage the internal audit team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Provide strategic insights to the Board and senior management on risk management, governance, and control issues.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess key risks across the organization and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the company’s risk management framework and recommend improvements.

Audit Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and execute a risk-based annual audit plan, ensuring coverage of critical business areas.
  • Oversee the execution of internal audits, including financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits.
  • Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Present audit findings, recommendations, and action plans to the Board, Audit Committee, and senior management.
  • Monitor and report on the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain open communication with external auditors and regulators.

Governance and Compliance:

  • Ensure the organization complies with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of governance processes and recommend enhancements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in internal auditing.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) are required.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing internal audit functions within a large, complex organization, preferably in a multinational or group structure.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Reporting Line:

  • Reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Functional reporting to the Managing Director.
