Job Objective
- Oversee the company’s day-to-day project-based, administrative, and operational functions.
- This includes strategic planning, management, and execution of operational initiatives to ensure operational efficiency, workforce productivity, and business profitability.
- The ideal candidate must have proof worthy leadership skills, a firm grasp of business analytics, an extensive experience in retail business operations, tech savviness, and the core ability to drive operational excellence across the organization.
Job Responsibilities
Core Functions
- Supervising business operations across the company’s HR, Finance, Sales, Trade, and Marketing and Inventory departments
- Developing and implementing operational strategies in line with overall business objectives
- Overseeing all operational activities, processes, and key projects to ensure all execution efforts align with overarching business goals for all departments
- Leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency; streamline operations, continually assess technology advancement and applicability to the business
- Maximizing the efficiency of all business procedures on daily operations and business growth plans
- Monitoring financial performance data, recommend and implement corrective actions to meet financial goals
- Consolidating tracking and reporting systems for all aspects of the business, teams and projects within the organization
- Monitoring industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions
- Implementing and managing operational processes and systems to improve performance and service delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
- Developing and managing operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for process optimisation, cost savings and revenue enhancement.
- Overseeing the supply chain operations to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods, consistency in bulk/market/customer demand, and a stable business cycle while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence.
- Executing all strategic plans approved for business profitability
- Identifying potential operational risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring business continuity plans are in place and regularly updated.
- Securing competitive advantages for the business; drive the expansion of product categories and SKUs to strengthen market dominance
- Conducting regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
- Reporting on projects, data, business analytics and operational performance to the managing director
Qualification & Skill Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
- MBA or advanced degree in management
- 5+ years experience as Head of Operations, Business Operations Manager or similar role
- Experience with business planning, data analysis, forecasting and project management
- Excellent grasp of financial data interpretation and budget planning
- Strong knowledge of retail and consumer goods industry
- Certifications in business operations, retail business management, etc.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder relationship management
- Strategic thinking with superior problem-solving skills
- Negotiation skills to secure profitable deals and partnerships
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate implementation of business strategies
