Qualifications / Competencies

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical fields.
  • HSE Certifications (NEBOSH, IGC & ISPON Certified)
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in HSE
  • Good communication skills
  • Effective negotiation, conflict resolution and strong influencing skills
  • Ability to provide leadership, obtain cooperation and assistance to meet objectives
  • Proficiency in English (Written & Spoken)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with driving experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cordinate all HSE related activities.
  • Ensure correct documentation of incidents and accidents including near-misses.
  • Ensure enforcement of the HSE Policies, procedures, PPEs, Permit to Work system (PTW) and compliance of regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the training of personnel in areas of safety, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, workplace inspections, and other matters related to implementing safety procedures in facilities.
  • Make sure that personal protective equipment, such as dust masks, safety glasses, footwear, and safety helmets, is being used in workplaces according to regulations.
  • Maintain effective relationships with relevant external agencies and emergency response service providers (e.g. Fire Service, emergency services, environmental agency, etc.)
  • Ensure that the business is compliant with statutory, regulatory, industry, and other HSE requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures.
  • Making recommendations following accidents/incidents.
  • Providing health and safety training courses for employees and managers.
  • Drawing up safe operational procedures.
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management.
  • Ensure safety critical elements are inspected and maintained as per plans.
  • Prepare and update site specific HSE procedures and documents.
  • Support on-site implementation of HSE training programs.
  • Develop and implement emergency drills.
  • Ensure lessons learnt from incident investigations are disseminated to all employees and contractors throughout the site.
  • Tracking and closing out of HSE action items, including actions from internal and external audit findings.
  • Assess compliance through recurrent safety audits.
  • Help the company in defining their annual Health & Safety plan.
  • Consolidate all levels of the company’s performance indicators.
  • Develop close communication within and across business units.
