Qualifications / Competencies
- Degree in Engineering or Technical fields.
- HSE Certifications (NEBOSH, IGC & ISPON Certified)
- Minimum of 7 years experience in HSE
- Good communication skills
- Effective negotiation, conflict resolution and strong influencing skills
- Ability to provide leadership, obtain cooperation and assistance to meet objectives
- Proficiency in English (Written & Spoken)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with driving experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Cordinate all HSE related activities.
- Ensure correct documentation of incidents and accidents including near-misses.
- Ensure enforcement of the HSE Policies, procedures, PPEs, Permit to Work system (PTW) and compliance of regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the training of personnel in areas of safety, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, workplace inspections, and other matters related to implementing safety procedures in facilities.
- Make sure that personal protective equipment, such as dust masks, safety glasses, footwear, and safety helmets, is being used in workplaces according to regulations.
- Maintain effective relationships with relevant external agencies and emergency response service providers (e.g. Fire Service, emergency services, environmental agency, etc.)
- Ensure that the business is compliant with statutory, regulatory, industry, and other HSE requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures.
- Making recommendations following accidents/incidents.
- Providing health and safety training courses for employees and managers.
- Drawing up safe operational procedures.
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management.
- Ensure safety critical elements are inspected and maintained as per plans.
- Prepare and update site specific HSE procedures and documents.
- Support on-site implementation of HSE training programs.
- Develop and implement emergency drills.
- Ensure lessons learnt from incident investigations are disseminated to all employees and contractors throughout the site.
- Tracking and closing out of HSE action items, including actions from internal and external audit findings.
- Assess compliance through recurrent safety audits.
- Help the company in defining their annual Health & Safety plan.
- Consolidate all levels of the company’s performance indicators.
- Develop close communication within and across business units.
