Hon Odunmbaku Visits IGGUNUKO Heritage Site, Plans To Develop All Cultural Monuments across Ojodu LCDA

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, today visited the IGGUNUKO heritage site at Akiode as part of his administration’s plan to upgrade and develop historical and cultural heritage sites and events across Ojodu and environs.

Hon Segun Odunmbaku, who visited the Iggunuko heritage site in company of the traditional ruler of the community, Baale Of Akiode, Chief Akinyemi Sanbe, with community leaders said his administration plans to boost tourism and hospitality through the engagement and development of such historical, cultural and traditional heritage sites in Ojodu LCDA.

The Mayor further said his plan for the sector is in consonance with Social and Infrastructural Development of his H.E.Y.S Agenda that is also in accordance with the Entertainment and Hospitality segment of the Babajide Sanwoolu administration’s THEMES Agenda to promote tourism and culture for socioeconomic development.

Ojodu LCDA has mapped and documented such heritage sites for development while collaborating with the State Government to promote and package tourism and culture through facilitating, sponsoring and showcasing of cultural heritage sites and events like Iggunuko and others to global standards.

At the visit were the SLG, Hon. Olaide John Bello, Supervisor For Works, Hon Bode Olaniyan, Council Engineer, Engr. Monsurat Ahmed, Ward E Councilor, Hon. Lekan Peters, Iyalode Of Akiode, Chief Mrs Saka Fausat Aina, Bada Of Akiode, Chief Saheed Animashaun and Ekerin of Akiode, Alhaji Jamiu Akanji Awofolaji.
