House of Reps unveils six-point legislative agenda with focus on healthcare for all

The House of Representatives, led by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, has revealed its comprehensive legislative agenda for the 10th House, with “Healthcare for All” taking center stage.

The unveiling took place during a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, where Majority Leader Julius Ihonvbere announced the key pillars of the legislative agenda. Alongside “Healthcare for All,” the agenda will prioritize the economy, human capital development, education, accountability, and security.

Under the “healthcare for all” pillar, the legislature pledges to increase budgetary allocations to the healthcare and education sectors. The goal is to ensure that medical facilities are well-equipped and adequately staffed to cater to the healthcare needs of all citizens. Additionally, the House of Representatives aims to explore public-private partnerships to address any gaps in healthcare provision.

The proposed legislative agenda encompasses six key areas:

  1. Economic Empowerment and Diversification
  2. Infrastructure Development
  3. Education and Human Capital Development
  4. Healthcare for All
  5. Transparent Governance and Accountability
  6. Security and Safety of Persons and Properties

By focusing on these crucial areas, the House of Representatives aims to address the nation’s pressing issues and work towards a better future for all Nigerians.
