House Officer at Lagoon Hospitals

Responsibilities

  • Taking and/ or checking the detailed medical history and examination
  • Ordering and coordinating investigation
  • Communicating with the referring medical practitioner on patient management
  • Liaison with all members of the health care team to facilitate effective and efficient patient management
  • Daily review of patients under one’s care
  • Documenting clinical history, physical examination and management plan on the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain an ongoing record of the patient’s progress, investigations and results.
  • Discuss discharge plans with the patient’s general practitioner and other healthcare professionals responsible for ongoing care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in dealing with patients and colleagues alike.
  • Comply with the use of standard operating procedures and policies/ adherence to quality standards and clinical practice guidelines.

  • Use of SOPS / adherence to quality standards and clinical practice guidelines

Educational Qualifications

  • MBBS or its equivalent.
  • Provisional registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
  • Valid medical practicing license

Technical Competencies

  • Triage
  • Basic Life Support skill
  • Appropriate procedural skills (including intubation, resuscitation and invasive monitoring)
  • Clinical acumen and Diagnostic skills

  • Empathetic
  • Diligent, Responsible, Honest and Reliable
