Job Description
- Preparing staff handbook.
- Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits; undertaking regular salaryreviews.
- Liaising with a wide range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety;
- Developing with line managers HR planning strategies that consider immediate and long-term staff requirements;
- Planning, and sometimes delivering, training, including inductions for new staff.
- Analyzing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers.
- Recruiting staff – this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing jobadverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
- Developing and implementing policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management.
- Working closely with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand andimplement policies and procedures.
- Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization.
- Negotiating with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to payand conditions.
- Administering payroll and maintaining employee records.
- Interpreting and advising on employment law.
- Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures.
Requirements and Skills
- B.Sc / BA Degree in Business Administration, Social Studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus.
- 2 – 4 years relevant work experience.
- HR Credentials (e.gPHR from the HR Certification Institute) would be an added advantage.
- Proven experience as HR officer, administrator, or other HR position.
- Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, etc.)
- Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
- Strong ethics and reliability.
- Proximity to location is MANDATORY (Trade-Fair).
