I Believe the Right Candidate Will Emerge —Fowler

As Nigerians cast the vote today, the Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr Babatunde Fowler, has said the right candidate would emerge as the President of the nation.

Fowler, speaking at his polling unit, PU:24/08/04/033 in Victoria Garden City, Lekki, Lagos, added that the voters were prepared to vote for the candidates of their choice.

Commenting to the delay in arrival of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission officials, who arrived at about 8:55 am, he said there was no disturbance as everything is going on as expected.

“I think some of the officials of VGC want to make sure that everything is orderly so they are asking people to write down their names before the arrival of INEC officials,” he said.

The Chairman, VGC Property Owners and Residents Association, Mr Segun Ladega, said over 5, 000 voters were registered at the polling unit, adding that at least 3,000 people were expected to vote.
“Residents have maintained their cool, we have confidence in the state and the system and we are aware there could be minor hitches.

It has been our experience over the past few electoral cycles that things start a little behind time here and it’s quite understandable. We are prepared for today,” he said.

He noted that the delay in the arrival of INEC officials might have made some people to stay back at home.
