Idrissa Gueye, the Senegal star was the most incredible player on the pitch as Everton defeated Burnley in their final home game of the season.
Idrissa Gueye has applauded Everton’s fine display against Burnley after they secured a 2-0 win in what was their last game at Goodison Park, Everton’s home stadium this season.
Marco Silva’s side, Everton, netted their first in the 17th minute of the game right after Richarlison’s shot was diverted into the net by Ben Mee.
And just three minutes later, Seamus Coleman sealed Everton’s win, which was their fourth consecutive win at Goodison Park with the second goal of the game.
Gueye put in a decent shift in the middle of the park, constantly breaking the Clarets’ attacking forays. His showing earned him the Man of the Match award.
Gueye captioned an Instagram post, “I promise I didn’t stole [sic] this one, it’s mine: Man of the Match.
“Great win again for our last game. Congratulations lads.”
The impressive result saw Everton, the Merseysiders leapfrog Leicester City into the eighth spot ahead of the Foxes’ Monday night fixture against Manchester City.
Next week, Everton will finish the 2018-19 season away at Tottenham Hotspur.
And tough-tackling Gueye, on an international scene, will hope to play a crucial role in Senegal’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations campaign slated to start on June 21.
The Teranga Lions, Senegal have been drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania, Algeria and Kenya.
