INEC presents Certificates of Return to Tinubu, Shettima

The winner of the 2023 presidential election, Bola Tinubu, and his vice-presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, have been given Certificates of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of INEC, presented the CoR on Wednesday afternoon at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, which served as the location for the collation of election results.

InsideOjodu recalls that INEC in the early hours of Wednesday declared the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the president-elect of the 2023 elections.

The All Progressives Congress candidate Tinubu won the presidential election with 8,794,726 votes, defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party in second place with 6,984,520, Peter Obi of the Labour Party in third place with 6,101,533, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in fourth place with 1,496,687 votes.

The President-Elect reaffirmed his commitment to the youths and pledged to try to improve Nigeria after accepting the CoR.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiama, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, former Governor of Ekiti State Kayode Fayemi, and a host of other dignitaries graced the occasion amid a mammoth crowd of supporters and party faithful.
